Refering to one's parents
I have to check in with the Parental Unit.
by Jenny November 14, 2004
The people who supposedly birthed you but with whom you feel no attachment. They may often share their living courters with you and ocassionly toss you a buck or two for the bus or tell you "i bought mac and can handle that for tonight, right?" but don't feel like family because they seem like they are just there.
Differentiation may be shown by using 'male' or 'female' as a prefix of the term.

ex. male parental unit or female parental unit

of american origin, used also within england(uk)and wales(uk). This term denotes the implyed genetic keepers who may also support their dependants and overbearingly control and impead the living of their offspring.
Be careful, the "parental units" are about the home.

the people who are also known as your parents, who make you feel like they are in control and know everything. you feel like a little dum fuk because they follow you around in the mall or somewhere and act like parents - REAL PARENTS - beware of these units .. they are bad. . bad bad bad.. .
Jon: want to go to the mall Ed?
Ed: i can't, my parental units will follow behind..
Jon: that blows

(1) Parents who are over-protective or over-restrictive.
(2) Parents who control every aspect of their child's life.

-The idea being that they are so predictable that they are like computers and/or robots.
I doubt that I'll be able to get that past the parental unit.
