A Native black Jamaican is a person whose ancestors settled on island of Jamaica before or during the slave trade . To be considered Native black Jamaican/NBJ one of your parents or two of your grandparents on either side of ones family must be born on the island of Jamaica one must be black and have ancestry on the island before 1900 or 1833 . We are a mix of the original tribes of the island and the black people brought from Africa during the slave trade . Any other person is considered non NBJ .
