A man who SHOULD have gone down in history as a highly respected pop music Icon. Unfortunately, he'll probably be most remembered for his alleged pedophilia and bizzare eccentricities.

A recording artist, singer, dancer, and actor who, during the early 1970's rose to stardom as a young boy fronting the family pop group The Jackson 5. The band was one of several family pop acts of its day (see also The Partridge Family and The DeFranco Family)which rose to stardom due to intense promotion and merchandising, heavy AM radio play, and their own television show.

During the 80's Michael Jackson began a wildly successful career as a solo artist. With the release of his record-breaking seminal album "Thriller" and a slew of connected music videos, Jackson's signature dance moves (see Moonwalk) and trademark saccharine-soprano voice became ubiquitous symbols of American pop culture.

However, personal problems, scandals and lawsuits have plagued the artist throughout his career. Most notably a paternity suit brought by the eponymous Billy Jean Castleberry, who claimed that Jackson fathered her illegitamate child; and persistent charges that Jackson has engaged in improper sexual conduct with young boys who have been guests at his Neverland Ranch in California.
