Meamble is a compound word for meander and amble. It describes the kind of walk that one does between their local train station or bus stop and their house, after an evening on the booze. It does not involve walking in a straight line.
I was meambling home at my own pace when all of a sudden I remembered that I have an early meeting tomorrow and I shouldn't have gone for after work drinks on a Wednesday night. I can't afford to meamble the rest of the way, I must stop looking at my feet and pick up the pace so I can have a glass of water and go to bed.
