believed to be an origin from the Persian words of "mani" which means "the meaning of " and "rang", the word for color. The combination of both words ended up with the variation of "manirang" or "manarang". Persons having this name are believed to have traced their ancestry to the Malay race although a family name now known in the Philippines.
