A woman (usually a less than attractive gold digger type) who sits at the bar in an upscale restaurant for hours nursing a glass of cheap chardonnay until one of the drunk but affluent customers to invites her to his table to join him for dinner. She then orders the most expensive item on the menu – usually a two-pound lobster. This term was coined at the Palm in New York in the 1980s.
"I'm not setting foot in this place again until the management decides to run out these lobster whores."
