(verb) cosmetics term: to use up an eyeshadow to the point where the bottom of the container (er, the "pan") starts to show.
I hit pan on my MAC Patina eyeshadow, so I'll probably be buying another one on my next haul.

I don't use this shadow that much -- after a year I still haven't hit pan.

Today I started hitting pan on my favorite MAC shadow! I didn't realize I used it so much..
