Failgate

Central Michigan University's definition of tailgating after the new policies took effect prior to the Sept. 20 home game against Alcorn State in 2009.

These policies include the limit of six beers or one pint of liquor per 21-year-old, and a ban on external sound and speaker systems.

Guy 1: Hey dude, did you go tailgating on Main before the game today?
Guy 2: Nah, we attempted to failgate in lot 63 behind Kelly/ Shorts Stadium. Pathetic.
Guy 1: Ouch.

the failbot has to be real, because it fails at being fake. unfortunately, it fails at not being fake also.

Failgate

Any offshoot sports forum or blog that fails at its goal of being better than the original from which it was spurned. Usually denotes a spinoff site that attempts to be cozy with a corporate entity in exchange for favors rather than staying independently critical of its subject matter. Origin lies in one particular offshoot forum using tailgate in its URL that became known as the failgate.

Man, did you check out my new site?
No, it's clearly a failgate.
