A light-hearted genre of classical music, mainly used during the 18th century for social functions. Usually composed for a small ensemble or soloists, the form was usually used by Mozart, Haydn and Carl Stamitz.
One of the greatest examples of chamber music is Mozart's Divertimento in E-flat major, K. 563
