1. Literally means "Milker of goats" in Latin or "Goat Milker." In anicent times people who milked goats were usually poor or enslaved. So calling someone a caprimulgus was belittling them to that of a slave or poor person.

It is now seen primarily in "The Daughters of the Moon" book series by Lynne Ewing. Where some of the characters speak Latin and Ancient Greek.
Stanton(yelling back to someone): Caprimulgus!
Serena: "Milker of goats"?
Stanton: It's an insult, trust me.
