A band created by Ben Gibbard and Jimmy Tamborello sending lyrics and rhythms back and forth through mail. Has the most crazy amazing lyrics ever created. Not to be confused with the US Postal Service.
Don't you adore the Postal Service?

Jenny Lewis of Rilo Kiley, Ben Gibbard of Death Cab for Cutie, and Jimmy Tamborello of dntel created the synthpop group The Postal Service.

A slightly inde band created by some members from DCFC (Death Cab for Cutie). Most notably known from thier work being featured in Garden State. Quite "film schooly" as a personal opinion, and certainly something different to listen to. Great to depart from the mainstream "music" that is fed to us through basic-cable "music channels".

A kick-ass band, similar to Death cab for cutiie, but with more of an upbeat. They have an album called "Give Up" If you wanna check 'em out, listen to "Such Great Heights", "Sleeping in", "We will become silhouettes", and "This Place is a Prison"

a band that sounds alot like death cab for cutie because the singer happens to be Ben Gibbard.
the band also consists of producer Jimmy Tamborello of Dntel, and a few other bands (headset and figurine). the group formed after ben set vocals to a song on one of Dntel's albums.
the postal service succeeds in creating a unique sound mostly upbeat and poppy.
