Mumble rap is a "sub-genre" of rap that involves people with no vocal talent whatsoever who have to rely on auto tune to make their voice sound somewhat decent which is usually way overdone to the point where they sound like robots, you can barely understand what they're singing about (hence the name "Mumble Rap") and when you search up the lyrics they are mostly about banging hoes, bragging about money and other dumb things. They also can't help but put "lil" in front of their stage name (ex: Lil Pump, Lil Uzi Vert).

The term used by old rap heads whom can't handle that music genres change over time and evolve or either die out.
They use it to describe hip hop artists that of which they cannot accept are the future of the genre and resent them for their new swing on the genre. This lead to an almost a civil war among the rap community that is still going on today.Mumble rap is recognised by its heavy trap beat or it lyrics that of which some people can't understand.
"Mumble rap" split from hip hop in the recent days as more of the artists became more mainstream, the schism of the genres only enrichened the divide between rap and hip hop and has helped with bridgening the gap between the happy side of rap and the sad side of rap leading to more groups of people enjoying rap music. This cultural enlightenment lead to more and more people to be influenced by the genre (remember music is down to opinion and no ones opinion is wrong )

Fans of lyrical rappers, (preferably white, or explicitly lyrical{mumble hating} rappers) who think that their genre of rap is the only good genre and will openly mock other people who like mumble rap, even when the majority is against them, and in that case will complain online, or at said situation about how they dislike "new rap" and are the only people in their generation who likes classic rap(see filthy frank in "BORN IN THE WRONG GENERATION" ). Favorite rapper lineup is usually along the hOlY tRiNiTy (Eminem, Logic, and Joyner Lucas) and sometimes includes other rappers that Eminem collaborated with (D12, Bad meets Evil, 50 cent, Dr Dre, and other people remotely related to Eminem's career) and usually hates rappers who have lyrics remotely unintelligible. these people have a word for mumble rap, which is a stupid pun for rap, and crap, calling it mumble (c)rap, and this term will sometimes be used ironically to mock stans by people who like all rap.
"ENISMEM IS THE BWST RAPER OF ALL TIME AND WIL NEVER BE DEFEATED MUMBLE (C)RAP SUCKS AND IT;S THE WORST THING THAT"S EVER BEEN CREATED PEACE TO THE OGS"
usually posted by someone who has Islamic sounding username and thinks that they will one day take a selfie with Eminem.
