A retro science fiction, fashion and technology subculture inspired by late 1960s psychedelic counterculture. Similar to Steampunk, its practitioners find fascination with the past’s vision of the future. Also referred to as Mod Futurism, examples can be seen in the cult classic film “Barbarella” (1968) and television program “UFO” (1970). This trend’s origins were first observed at DragonCon 2011, a Sci-Fi/Pop Culture festival held annually in Atlanta, Georgia.
