The term was originally used by Hoshi, a member of Seventeen, who is known by his obsession with tigers since he was very little. Recently, it was used by JHope of BTS on his personal insta, and even liked by Hoshi himself, what showed that Hoshi was pleased to see his term used by someone he admires. It is really sad to see fandoms divided like this. We should be happy to see our faves interacting in a fun way but instead, we are fighting about who owns some word that it's known to be Hoshi's for years now and which ownership wasn't questioned until today. Both Carats and Armies should be friends and it's so ridiculous to be fighting over this when the idols involved are clearly friends!

'Horanghae' Is another way to say 'saranghae' which 'I love You' in Korean. 'Horang' is from the word 'horangi' which tiger in Korean and 'hae' come from 'saranghae' so it's literally mean 'I tiger You'. For those ignorants brats, THE INVENTOR OF HORANGHAE IS SEVENTEEN'S MAIN DANCER, CHOREOGRAPER, PERFORMANCE TEAM LEADER AND 'HORANGI POWER' SINGER, HOSHI OR KWON SOONYOUNG SINCE JUNE 2019. We won't gatekeep horanghae as anyone can use it for a peaceful time stanning kpop groups. The end, peace.

HORANGHAE is made by SEVENTEEN HOSHI under legal name KWON SOONYOUNG. He adores Tigers so much even he was a toddler he consider himself as a Tiger since then. He chose his stage name as HOSHI labeled with "TIGER" (Horangi in KOR)

HOSHI is the one started SEVENTEEN endearments SEVENTEEN members endearments was named after their names but only HOSHI is different it was originally "I TIGER YOU" but CARATS their fans accepted & really love what their HOSHI love they considered it as I HOSHI YOU

HORANGHAE started late after their debut in "2015" and continuesly active since 2017 starting in early 2019 each member having endearment one by one just specially for CARATS

HOSHI is so obsessed with TIGERS full filling his room with TIGER STUFF he always saying "HORANGHAE" & WEARING TIGER SHIRTS & CARATS LOVE HOSHI TIGER AGENDA as always

HORANGHAE is special to CARATS also because its the first agenda & HORANGHAE was using by the fandom to share LOVE & SUPPORT to each other

Kwon Soonyoung, who has a stage name Hoshi that means “Tiger’s Gaze”, a member of the 13-member group Seventeen coined the term “Horanghae” that is a combination of the words Horangi (tiger) and Saranghae (i love you) which literally means “I tiger you.”

It officially started in 2018, yet he started posting about it last 2019 on his weverse post explaining what it means. “Hoshi loves you.”

Consequently, Hoshi’s tiger agenda does not end there. From his horanghae spiel, tiger clothes, stuffed toys, tiger-themed foods, and he also started a paw pose possessing a tiger-look. He even made a song named “Horangi Power!”

In conclusion, Hoshi is a living tiger in a human form.

He even has a song called "Horangi Power" that has "horanghae" in its lyrics or "I tiger you". Hoshi has been using "Horanghae" as his phrase since 2019. 🐯❤
