"Gabbo" is a colloquial term used to describe an individual who consciously or inadvertently abandons opportunities for career advancement in their field of study in favor of pursuing employment in an industry that bears little or no relation to their acquired degree. This person typically disregards the potential for further practical experience and development within their chosen academic discipline and opts instead to work in an unrelated sector, often for reasons such as being retarded, hugely gay, or general laziness. The term "gabbo" conveys a sense of retardation and a departure from a more conventional career path, which may lead to long-term consequences for their professional growth and opportunities.
