furrever friend 

A pet that has a strong positive emotional connection with the pet owner. The pet can be a service animal or pet that grew as a pup with a young child or an older adopted animal that was abused and was brought back to positive emotional state by its relationship with the pet owner. The pet is like a family member and it treated as one treats a friend.

If not for her furrever friend during the Covid-19 crisis she would have been an emotional wreck from being so socially isolated.
