A term used by kids who they think they are the shit. They may be good but they are full of themselves and want to tell everyone they are good at basketball. These kids normally have multiple pairs of shoes and multiple pairs of nike elites.

The ballislife syndrome is named after the youtube channel Ballislife which shares video comps of young basketball players from the youngest age to college and occasionally off-season training sessions of D1 and Nba Players.
The syndrome defines the excess amount of hype that those videos generated around the youngsters, providing mass media coverage to players that haven't fully developed or are bang average facing no competition. Beyond Basketball it also applies to football and soccer (futbol)
