Contrary to popular belief, used to describe Socialists, as Communism = Red, and Capitalism = White. (See Russian Revolution in your history text book) Red + White = Pink. Therefore, Socialism = Pink.

A belittling or uncomplimentary name given to someone who is not necessarily a communist but is understanding of communism and communists, and this person may support socialism. For some people Communism is associated with the color red, and pink, a lighter shade of red, could stand for the lighter shade, form, or type of communism, being socialism.

Term that originiated in the Red Scares of the 1950s. If someone were accused of being a communist sympathizer, they were referred to as a "pinko". This originiated when Nixon was running against Ex Officio Senator Douglas for the positionm of California. He accused her of wearing pink underwear, implying that she sympathized with communist parties. Nixon won the election by a landslide.

Ya well, steven is a pinko, so we should kill him, cause we hate communist ideals, being american.
