I hear what you're saying and it sounds like Oy Yoy Yoy

A phrase, origin of which is in Hebrew and now one of the most popular phrase in Israel. It's equivalent to "stop complaining like a baby" but much more cynical.
it's usually used when someone complains about unimportant things.
She: I'm 40, single, ugly and got fired today.
Me: I hear what you're saying and it sounds like Oy Yoy Yoy! I'm so miserable! No one wants me! I'd rather kill myself!

Cheer Up Saying

Sayings that cheer you up about a situation without really doing anything to solve it.
"If life gives you HIV, make HIV AIDS!"

"Dude, that's just a cheer up saying, I still have HIV soon to be AIDS"

faux-savings

Refers to grocery stores that require customers to apply for frequent customer cards in order to recieve discounts.

The store proudly displays the amount of "savings" on the bottom of the reciept to show how much money was saved during the shopping trip.

However, the customer doesn't actually know if the amount saved actually means anything since there is no way to tell what the actual price on an item is.
Sally looked at her reciept and saw that she has "saved" thirty dollars on her grocery bill. However, she knows that the groceries that she bought always seem to be on "sale" and that the thirty dollars is just "faux-savings".
