The verb to whoosh has been first used by the character of Lois Lane in Smallville in episode 14 of season 10(to describe the sound does by Clark when he uses his superspeed).
This a way to show you're leaving some place,this is also used when you disappeared for a moment without annoucing it,you just whooshed (for example someone if you were talking together).
This is mostly used by Smallville fans.
