Pink Floyd was an extremely influential progressive rock band. They were most popular in the early to late 70's, however, they were a band from the years '65-'95, '05, and again from ’12-’14.

They're most known for the albums Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, and The Wall, however, they do have some underrated albums such as Animals and Obscured by Clouds.

Some notable hits include Money, Another Brick in the Wall Part II, & Wish You Were Here.

The original lineup consisted of:
Syd Barrett

Roger Waters

Nick Mason

Richard Wright

In '68, Syd Barrett was replaced by David Gilmour.
The band stayed like that until '81, when Wright was kicked from the group.
In '85, Waters left the band to pursue a solo career.

In '05, Roger rejoined to play one last show at Live 8. This was the final time the entire band played together before Richard Wright's death in '08.

In ’12, Gilmour and Mason decided to revisit recordings made with Wright, to make an album. The Endless River released in ’14, marking the final Pink Floyd album.

Right now, there are no plans for a reunion tour or album. Pink Floyd was one of the most influential bands ever. Their early psychedelic rock sound transformed into progressive rock known today. They have influenced many bands. While it was a shame to see it end, The Endless River was a nice ending. The nearly entirely instrumental album covered many Floyd styles, and the final song provides Gilmour's vocals, as well as a great end.
Person 1: Oh man! Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd stuck in my head.
Person 2: Pink Floyd? The same people that wrote Money? Wow, they have an extremely diverse musical sound!

A progressive rock group that came into being in the late 60's. Become famous after original frontman Syd Barret fried his brain on LSD and left the group, got new guitarist Dave Gilmour and released "Dark Side of the Moon" which had the longest reign in the billboard top 100 ever. Music sounds futuristic, but old school, Sort of like when they travel to the future in "Back to the Future 2" and everything looked hyper 80's. PinK Floyd started sucking 1980 onwards.
Im gonna go on a spiritual journey, ive got a couple of ounces and my dad's copy of Pink Floyds Dark Side of the moon.

^^I usually normally listen to rap also, but NOTHING compares to Pink Floyd when you are laid back and chillin at home, esp when your baked.

Roger Waters basically made Pink Floyd what it was at its peak, that's why all albums from Saucerful of Secrets to Animals (Basically, anything after Syd Barrett left and before The Wall) are like heaven to a stoned man's ears, and you can't beat that feeling.
-Dawg, I was pimpin' G-Unit when I just lit the blunt and turned on my Pink Floyd.

-Pink Floyd? You listen to them also, homie?

-Fuck yea homes, especially Wish You Were Here, now that's the shit.

-Can't forget Meddle.
