A music genre that is hated by many because it usually has no lyrics, but if you use it as the background music for today's latest rap, pop, or country song, people will be dancing and whistling to the tune for months on end, and not realize that they are enjoying the EXACT SAME type of music they insist on claiming they hate.
Most people who hate techno are fucking hypocrites, since much of the music in the Top 40 chart uses techno music in the background.

Techno=A 'specialist' percusive genre which not all ears will like.

Unlike what a few people have been saying on here for some reason-techno in it's pure form does not get into the UK chart,it's too specialist for mainstream ears.

"Music that sounds like technology." - Juan Atkins (A.K.A. Model 500, Cybotron), From the liner notes to Retro Techno/Detroit Definitive/Emotions Electric, Nettwork, 1991

Also, see Kraftwerk as Atkins claims Kraftwerk's "Home Computer" to be the best techno record ever.
Pay attention to words of the man who invented it, E-tards.

A word people use incorrectly to name all of Electronic Music.

Really, "Techno" is its own genre of Electronic Music. It consists of a BPM range from 120 to 150 and a 4/4 drum pattern.
"Dude I love this Techno music."

"That's not techno, it's Electro House"

a sub-genre of electronic music that dumbshits like to use to cover all electronic music they hear
Dumbass: Hey, what are you listening to?
Someone: Stuff you'll probably never listen to on the radio.
Dumbass: Oh, let me listen.
*listens*
Dumbass: So you listen to techno?
Someone: No you idiot. It's trance.
Dumbass: Well they all sound the same to me.

techno isn't rave music
rave music is another form of electronica
techno is not mainstream; some people here are mistaking mainstream shit for pure techno when it's most probably electro-pop
listen to some
orbital (their "in sides" album for instance)kraftwerk, aphex twin, plastikman and other PURE techno

urgh, I hate it when people confuse techno for other forms like trance, house, gabba, electrofunk and acid etc

get your genres right before calling people names and remember one man's poison is another man's pleasure :)
