Get the happy hardcore mug.
A genre of music that emerged from the old skool hardcore rave scene circa 1990-1992.
After 3 years of continuous drug abuse the rave scene and music shifted to whats known as Dark/The Darkside/Darkcore around 1993.
The scene then split into Jungle/Drum and Bass and Happy Hardcore (the original hardcore/rave sound combined all the elements of both genres) during 1994/1995 and both evolved to become what they are today.
"happy hardcore rocks!"

"happy hardcore is for pussies, drum and bass is where its at!"

"bollocks to all! the original hardcore was and still is the best, know your roots!"

Get the happy hardcore mug.
A genre of electronic music that became popular during England's rave movement. Characterized by a processed 4x4 kick, breakbeats, baselines, and high strung synths and vocals, happy hardcore is the staple of any candy kid's listening experience. Drum & Bass also originated from happy hardcore and now are (ironically) anathema to one another. Where happy hardcore is known for it's happy, almost cheesy, lyrics and sounds, Drum & Bass is a much more aggressive, hard-edged sound that is a much harder pill to swallow, so to speak.
Scott Brown, Vinylgroover, UFO, Kaos, Ethos, Anabolic Frolic.

Benn around since the early 1990s evolving from rave music. Toke on after 93/94 when split off from Jungle and uses speed up vocals, breakbeats, 4/4 kickdrum and bouncy techno. Went out after 1999 when people lost intrest and now littles is made as club music has taken over. The best Hardcore now is freeform.

Now considered chav music, they say they like Happy Hardcore but really only like the stuff off Raver Baby and by DJ Rankin and have never heard any real Happy Hardcore or Freeform.
Happy Hardcore was at it's peak in 1996.
Chavs toke over in 2000.
Now Hardcore is being mistaken for being pop music on fast forwards.

a awesome sub-genre of techno that has a heavy bassline and an up-beat tune. It is very common at raves because it makes people feel happy (hence the name). some good happy hardcore albums that are recommended are the Bonkers and Clubland series and some main DJs include DJ hixxy, Scott Brown, MC sharkey, Darren Styles and DJ breeze.
