To skide on the ground is to slip slightly or start skidding on the ground.
Basically, a scottish word for the word skidding, but instead skide/skiding.
'He went skiding down the path!'

Skiding

A technique used by fixed gear riders to break. Skiding is caused by blocking your cranks with your legs causing the rear wheel to lock resulting in some sort of drift.
Skiding is an effective technique to break on a fixie.
Skiding is not good for your tire!
