Not to be confused with dingy, or dinghy, this word is an adjective used to desribe anything that's insignificant, worth little to nothing in value, smaller in size, or just overall crappy.
1. Put that dinky toy back on the shelf. It's gay.

Note that the first definition of this word, is pretty much extinct.
1. To be jolly, happy, spirited, good-hearted.
2. Homosexual (but more so in the male sense), as in being sexually attracted to someone of the same sex.
3. An adjective (increasing in use) to negatively describe something as crappy, disappointing, unfavorable, or undesireable.
Many gays (2nd definition) are struggling to earn full rights to this word, and don't take kindly to people using it in the way described by this definition. However, they have to get over it. It is not everyone's intention to use this word to negatively describe something, because they feel homosexuality is wrong. It's just becoming another definition of its own, and gays will just have to deal with that.
But to avoid this kind of conflict, it is recommended to spell it as ghey, a spelling of "gay" made up just for this sort of use of the word "gay".

Someone who displays very rude, vulgar, inappropriate, distasteful behavior that causes a major inconvenience to those around them.
However, what makes this person an asshole is the fact that they, while fully aware that others suffer on their behalf, intentionally behave so discourteously.

1) If you're in a parking lot, and you're closer to the parking spot someone just pulled out of than the other car, that's been waiting for 5 minutes, you are an asshole. They were there first, making them rightfully entitled to that space.
2) If you write out a check for purchases that are less than $10.00, this makes you an asshole because you are holding up the line.
3) If you're in a movie theatre and you bring your 6mo. old baby, you are an asshole. The baby will cry, and you will disrupt the movie.
4) "...I use public toilets, then piss on the seats. I walk around in the summertime goin' 'How about this heat?'" lyrics from Dennis Leary's "I'm an Asshole"
