A term used in the restaurant business pertaining to any persons who are either cheap, don't tip, or try to cheat their way to a free meal. One who will run staff into the ground with no gratitude. Gipsies are known to ask absurd requests and complain about anything and everything so they won't have to pay for the enormous amount of food they ordered for their giant family/guests .
Cashier: You were working pretty hard for that table. Did you get tipped?
Waitress: Nah, they were a bunch of gipsies. Make sure they don't pull anything up here to get a freebie.
Manager: Don't worry, I've kept my eye on the lead gipsy all night.
