Dunkadelic Phat 5 of College Basketball

The Phat 5 started playing basketball in 1899 and the last program started play in 1920. Kansas was the firsr in 1899 under the leadership of Dr. James Naismith, the founder of the game of basketball. Here's a list of the first year of play for all the Phat 5 programs.

The Phat 5 in the 2006-07 season will be celebrating 500 years of basketball play. Kentucky was suspended from play in the 1952-53 season to allow for the off year. This is amazing achievement that they all started at diffrent years. It's an historical event that will be a shrine to college sports.
The Phat 5 of College Basketball will be celebrating 500 years of basketball play a feat that has never been obtained by a group of elite teams ever in the history of sport. Now that's Dunkadelic!!!!!!

Dunkadelic Phat 5 of College Basketball

As of the 2004-05 college basketball season the top 3 All-Time most NCAA Tourament wins are by Phat 5 coaches.

1. Mike Krzyzewski-66( Duke ), 66-18
2. Dean Smith-65 ( UNC ), 65-27
3. John Wooden-47 ( UCLA ), 47-10

They are also the top 3 coaches in Final Four appearances.

1. John Wooden ( UCLA )- 12
2. Deam Smith ( UNC )-11
3. Mike Krzyzewski ( Duke )-10

Adolph Rupp ( UK ) is tied for 4th with 6 with Denny Crum ( U. of Louisville ). Crum an assistant coach with John Wooden at ( UCLA ).
The Phat 5 coaches are just as impressive as their players and have been role models to the premiere coaches in the game today. Now that's Dunkadelic!!!!!

Dunkadelic Generation

Is the era of kids born between 1975 and 1985. This era was influenced by the emergence of Dr.J and the Hip-Hop culture. They have grown up entirely on Hip-Hop. Michael Jordan and RUN-DMC continued the influence and helped popularize the shoe apparel industry that has become fashion symbols in the hallways, playgrounds, and neighborhoods of the urban youth.
Allen Iverson, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Garnett, LeBron James, and Amare Stoudemire are players born during the " Dunkadelic Generation " era who were influenced by basketball and the Hip-Hop culture. They are now Dunkadelic Mega-Stars of the " Dunkadelic Generation " era and are coutinuing the influence of the Hip-Hop and basketball movement.

Dunkadelic Backbreaker

Is a basketball slang " catch phrase " used to describe a slam dunk that takes the heart and energy out of an opposing team. Makes an opposing team call time out and brings the crowd to their feet.
Shaq dropped a Dunkadelic Backbreaker on Portland that sent them home, and the Lakers to the 2000 NBA Finals. Dwayne Wade all but ended the game vs. Minnesota with a crushing Dunkadelic Backbreaker over " The Big Ticket " Kevin Garnett that lead to a Miami victory.
