{Loh-tore}. To Lotor. Verb.
1. The act of crafting a sympathetic, morally gray fictional character, especially one with a tragic or abusive back story, and leading the audience to believe the character will atone and rise above their circumstances, then "subverting expectations" by driving the character to the madness they tried to avoid, resulting in the character meeting a gruesome end. Bonus points if the character in question dies by the hand of a lover and/or has a sick ride that rains hellfire.

Past tense: Lotored, Present Tense: Lotoring
We were looking forward to the abused queen finally ending the tyrannical system that resulted in her abuse, but instead she got Lotored.

The Reylo community collectively shit when the prospect of JJ Abrams Lotoring Ben Solo became a valid story concern.
