Bottle Merchant

Someone who loses their nerve, backs out, or otherwise fails to follow through on what they say they will do. Commonly used to describe athletes or sports teams with a history of failing to win when they have the opportunity.

That team were 3-0 up at half time and still lost, total bottle merchants.
