Batty fang is a Victorian slang term originating in London which means 'to thrash thoroughly'/'to damage beyond repair'/'to smash to death'. Although not necessarily the case, it has been speculated that it could have come from the French term 'battre a fin'.

A phrase used to refer to students or universities that try to use deception to make themselves seem more established than they really are. The term comes from Oxford Brookes University, where students will often try to imply they went to the prestigious Oxford University instead.
