Gamers are actually intelligent people with a good amount of friends. a gamer hater is usually a sports obsessed fag or some other person like that. they usually just act this way because they dont have the brain cells to play a videogame and are also hypocritical because they obsess over baseball games and shit like that. A mocking trend recently started at Williamsville North High School that is spreading across Western New York. It's typically used as a derrogatory term by preps/jocks against people whom they think are inferior, regardless of their gaming habits.
Common victims of the term: 1. People who wear black. 2. People who don't like football. 3. People who like music. 4. People who are knowledgeable with computers. 5. Essentially anyone with an i.q greater then that of a grapefruit. Common users of the term: 1. People who love sports to the point of obsession. 2. People who smell like an abercrombie store. 3. People whose parents clearly pay for all of their clothes. 4. Essentially anyone who has no self-esteem and feels the need to mock others who are actually happier then they are to make themselves feel bettter. Prep 1: Dude, look at those gamers, think they've ever heard of football.

casual gamers make up the silent majority of computer and console game players that:
1, use pc and console games as a means of socializing or to connect with friends rather than as an achievement or to further their reputation as a skillful game player. 2, are by definition inferior in skill to any hardcore gamer. 3, do not play casual games. 4, play mainly console based games due to their ease of setup and "plug & play" capabiliy. 5, inherently feel a need to confront hardcore gamers due to their own inferior skills and the hardcore gamers inherent need to prove victorious. Any casual gamer that successfully challenges a hardcore gamer is not a casual gamer, but a hardcore gamer in denial.
Obviousy, all gamers are bound by the desire to win at any given game, there would be no point to any game if that were not true, but the over-riding desire to connect with other individuals, be it close friends or distant aquaintances define the casual gamer. Hardcore gamers have a generally negative, and often derogatory view of casual gamers, looked upon as the plauge of the video game industry. While hardcore gamers are in the minority of gamers they provide an invaluable resource to developers on both the hardware and software end. Without the hardcore gamers passion and dedication to the art, we would not have the quality games that are available today. Since the purchase power of the casual gamer determines what becomes a best seller, it is understandable why the hardcore gamer has such contempt for the group. |
