Nadezhda 

Nadezhda is a Russian name which means 'hope', usually changed to Nadia or Nadiya when used in an English-speaking country.

Somebody who isn't Russian but called Nadezhda, or one of it's translated names, usually has heritage in one of the Soviet nations.
