Driving the bantwagon is to be on top form when it comes to talking to others, ie on a night out.
Mike is really funny tonight, yeah, hes driving the bantwagon.

Banter-wagon 

Another term for a bus, used mainly when returning from the pub/parties.

Can also be used to describe a hot new ride.
1) "The wheels on the Banter-wagon go round and round..."

2) "We run 'em over in our Banter-wagon!"

Banter Wagon 

A car, usually cheap and aged, a first vehicle for most, which is often used with the driver's mates as passengers.
Can be found in most McDonald's car parks starting on the second or third try with six people in the back.
Thomas: Just fixed the Banter Wagon, anyone want to come out?
Jake: Yes, I'll bring the boys, let's do some handbrake turns in the car park!
Thomas: Say no more!
