chip chaser

Chip with little to no dip used as a chaser after eating a chip with a large amount of dip on it. Usually the first chip is not intended to have an unusually large amount of dip so the chip chaser evens things out.
Guy 1:Man I had way to much dip on that chip!

Guy 2:At least you were quick with that chip chaser.

Chaser Chip

A tortilla chip devoid of any contents after eating a round of chips with hot salsa, to cool the mouth down.
After eating salsa made with the pure essence of fire, I need a goddamned chaser chip.

Fogey/fogy /fougi/ sl. (early 18C+, orig. Scot) old-fashioned, stuck-in-the mud.
Person with old fashioned ideas which he is unwilling to change: Come to the disco and stop being such an old fogey!
You think me an old fogeyand an old tory, his thoughtful voice said. I saw three generations since O’Connel’s time. I remember the famine. Do you know that the orange lodges agitated for repeal of the union twenty years before O’Connel did or before the prelates of your communion denounced him as a demagogue? You fenians forget some things. (James Joyce, Ulysses. Penguin Books,1992. p. 38)
