SMG, or "Social Media Grandma" is a grandma that likes the idea of hanging around the grandkids so that she can post Instagram photos of her with the kids, but isn't really that good with them.

Wife: "My mom is coming round to have dinner with us and the kids." Husband: "She's such an SMG. All she wants to do is post pictures and then leave us with the washing up."
