(noun) Someone who portrays inherent characteristics which exemplify his/her upbringing in a dangerous, and often gang/drug infested neighborhood. Someone who is hood is unlikely to be controlled in hostile situations, and may often act in ways which make the appear as uncivilized to people who aren't hood. Often can be synonymous with the word ghetto
Damn, you cant invite T-O to this dinner, he's too hood. He'll probably eat with his hands, curse anyone out who stares at him for that, and be totally uncontrollable.

1. Post-rock/Indie band from the UK named after the HMS Hood
2. Famous British battleship (HMS Hood) that was sunk in WW2 by the rival German Battleship Bismarck. Some actually claim the Prinz Eugen fired the fatal shot. No one really knows for sure.
The Brits got their revenge a couple days later when an entire fleet of the country's best ships surrounded the Bismarck and decimated it. The Germans claimed that the Brits were never actually able to sink it and that they scuttled it themselves.

Hood derived from the term "neighborhood", is a place where either neighbors seldom exist. If they do, chances are they really wish they didn't.

Slang for the word "neighbourhood," and only used by the hardest of gangsters as seen in the example.
When a couple of guys, they were up to no good
Started making trouble in my neighbourhood
I got in one little fight and my mom got scared
And said "You're moving with your auntie and uncle in Bel-air"
