A derogatory term for certain rural dwellers used to play up the overrated hype of urban conformity. Hicks reject modern doctrines of chasing class, sophistication, and materialism either outrightedly, or because they can't be bothered with venturing out of their simple yet humble lifestyles. They tend to not worry about insignificant things like trends and fashions and sometimes walk into the bank wearing their "shitkickers" to enjoy disgusted reactions. They are often called old fashioned but know that the urban community established by capitalist bankers and freemasons with too much money and power is only a temporary thing that like most fads will go out of fashion in due time. Too one's disgust, "City slickers" and urbanites who are generally regarded as being more refined or worldly have earned more favorable names like "gentleman", "intellectual", "beau", and "smoothy" mostly due to the fact that they, the ones in control of urban hubs and centers are also the ones in control of mass public influence, and the English language for that matter. After all, the country people are responsible for the bucolic plague!
After Bush got elected for his second term, the Waits family said "the hell with this fascist crapola!" and retired to the country to be hicks.

A derogatory term, used to describe people of lower class, middle american areas, or just anyone who does not live in atleast a suburb of normal society. A hick is usally a racist asswipe who hates other cultures simply for the fact that they are more succesful then he is (ie. a jew)To be more specific a hick might join a group such as the KKK which is nothing more than a group of hicks with have nothing better to do than hate blacks and jews for no reason other then the the lack of jobs or an education that plagues the hick community.

Some of my family. I just think that hick means a person who has grown up in a rural setting and it takes more than 20 miles from a city of 500,000 to be a hick...i mean...geez...thats near 50 percent or more people in the US that are hicks. Theres redneck and then there is a hick...and then a country bumpkin.
Did you know Montana doesnt even have a town with a population close to 500,000. The most populated town has around 100,000 living in it?

Typically live in trailers, have sixteen one-eyed, eight-limbed, buck-toothed, 'special needs' kids, and are related by blood to everyone within a twenty mile radius. Scary people that always own a rifle and drive disgusting old red pickups and have cars without wheels on cinder blocks on their property, which, by the way, you better get the hell off of before Bubba shoots you...
