the dad grab referred to when a guy grabs a girls upper arm and jerks down firmly in attempt to startle, confuse or make her laugh. usually complimented by a remark of absolute control, such as "now, WHAT DID I TELL YOU!?"...this doesn't work well when a guy does it to another guy or a girl does it to a guy.... but when a guy does it to a girl, it just gives that out of control "dad-like" feel that NOTHING compares to.

When you are cruising in a car and you are enjoying a snack in the back seat and your dad reaches around for a handful of your snack, expecting you to share.
On a family road trip I open a bag of chips, then from the front seat comes the dad grab! I was nice and shared!!!!
