When you break even on something, or when two opposite things cancel out.

You've lost a dollar because you were misbehaving in a grocery store, but when we went to the mall, you surprised me with your excellent behavior, so I'll give you a dollar for that. Don't bother touching your money paper, because it's a wish wash.
