A game genre which includes intense jumps and skills. This originated from the ROM hack Super Kaizo World, which was brought over into Super Mario Maker, making the term “Kaizo” popular. Mario levels that are in the “Kaizo” genre has jumping mechanics like jumps on enemies, doing shell jumps, and throwing shells into ON/OFF blocks whilst getting towards the goal.
“Did you hear about the new Kaizo level in Mario Maker?”
“Yeah, but I don’t think I’ll be playing that anytime soon…”

Very difficult and cheap levels in videogames. Often used about Mario games as the word originates from a Super Mario World hack known as Kaizo Mario World or Asshole Mario. Kaizo means "reorganize" in japanese, referring to the fact that that's what romhacks do.

An invisible coin block in the Super Mario series placed in order to prevent the player from completing a jump. Used to great effect in Kaizo Mario World and other Rom hacks. Named for what you'd call the creator of the hack after triggering one of the blocks.

A game, most commonly videos games, that is so ridiculously difficult that it would be considered a kaizo game. The difference between the simple kaizo genre and a kaizo trap, is that a kaizo trap puts the player into a position where after struggling for a good half an hour to reach a point in which they think they are safe, a random quick kill obstacle, enemy, or otherwise is put in as a trick to kill the player for letting their guard down.
Finally, I'm at a safe point! For the love of everything holy, it took me, like, 2 hours to-*the player's avatar is killed by a sudden falling spike*- GOD DAMN IT! This is the third kaizo trap this game has thrown at me! Can I relax for one second?
