The act of no longer using a pencil that was in your backpack as a way to remember an event that happened during class. If something memorable happens, you take the pencil out of your backpack and leave it to never be used again to keep the memory.

Quiet retiring is the same as quiet quitting except the individual is working towards retirement and they are tired of putting in all the extra work and getting nothing more or earning anything more. This fall for someone that’s within 1 to 5 years of retirement from there career and even possibly 10 years depending on their job and or age.
Person one: I’ve noticed Paul has been slowing now and just getting by with the workload.
Person two: Yeah, he’s quiet retiring now. He’s just a few years away from the gold watch.
