snow plowing

When someone goes all the way down the ski slope on their snowboard on their heal side, taking the mountain with them.

When Jack found himself amongst an entire slope of moguls he gave up on carving and snow plowed down the mountain.

flying the hull

When sailing a catamaran, which has two pontoons, the boat tilts drastically to one side as a result of the force of the wind on the sail, causing one of the pontoons to raise out of the water.

The girl felt like she was flying across the water as she flew the hull of her catameran.

Used to refer to an education that someone received at a crappy school, or a lack of education all together.

the falling leaf

When someone is first learning how to snowboard and they are scared shittless to attempt carving, so they go all the way down the slope on their heal side by first heading downhill with their dominant foot, and then their other foot, immitating the motion of a falling leaf.

Sarah was tired of falling on her ass every time she tried to carve, so she just did the falling leaf all the way down the slope.

Naked Run

An event at UC Santa Cruz that takes place every year the night of the first rain. A group of students goes around from college to college, collecting more crazy people on the way, in nothing but their birthday suits.

I couldn't believe my eyes when a member of the Naked Run came running into my dorm, trying to recruit more insane people.

A snowboarding term. It is when a snowboarder is going down the slope with his back to the mountain.

After a day of snowboarding my calves were killing me from boarding so much on my heelside.
