Short for Dungeons and Dragons. A popular non-computer based RPG(role playing game). Originally created by E.Gary Gygax and Dave Arnerson, and published in 1974. It was bought by the wizards of the coast and is now going on its fourth edition. Each Edition is comprised of new rules, items, and stats. Though nerds are frquently seen as playing several gamers and gamer girls play it. It is comprised of several books, player satistics, and many diferent sided dice. The most popular is the d20. D=dice or die and then you add how ever many sides it has.
