Marc Jacobs 

A NY born and based designer who has inspired a cult following with his expert helming of an ever expanding roster of clothing lines (Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs and Marc by Marc Jacobs being the major ones). His designs incorporate elements which may intially seem disseparate--80s club cool, retro charm, grunge, 21st century sophistication--but which he blends expertly into garments and acessories so intuitively right they whip the fashion world into a frenzy season after season. Friend of Sophia Coppola, Wearer of v-neck sweaters, Genius walking.

My closet is practically a Marc Jacobs showroom. Anything the man touches is gold.

lucky

A very cool magazine about shopping which not only highlights the under-the-radar trends in fashion, beauty and home furnishings but also explains how to wear/integrate them. Unfortunately, women everywhere have caught on to this little gem of a publication and what was once hip, fresh and unique has become mainstream. Ah well...

'Lucky' was so much cooler about 2 years ago, when not every chick on the block had her nose stuck in it the moment it hit newsstands.

Short for, "You win some, you lose some". Usually employed when a situation or endeavour doesn't pan out in a auspicious manner in spite of a party's best efforts. Interestingly enough, despite the inclusion of the word 'win', ironically the phrase is often intended to console a loser.

"Wow, you spent $700 on that date and she went home with the waiter. Ah well bro, you win some..."
