Leading from Behind

When a leader creates or empowers a grassroot group to do their bidding, especially in cases where it would be illegal for leading direct efforts (e.g. Bush Doctrine of preemptive regime change) or where it would be consider imperialist, etc.. This type of support and empowerment can be mutually beneficial for the leader and the grassroot group. However, it can be to the detriment to one or the other (or both) if there is a separation of interests. As the grassroot group develops leadership roles the new leaders may take the group in a very different direction that is beneficial to the grassroot group, or the empowerer may begin to choose or control the leaders and take it in a very different direction. In the early stages the new leaders in the grassroot groups may be weak and depend on the support of the outside leader to consolidate power. However, over time a leader may consolidate power for their own interest, or the new grassroot leaders and the outside leaders may work to the detriment of the grass roots group. This is especially true in cases where the outside and/or inside leader(s) have goals inconsistent with the grassroot groups. In a lot of cases the result is total chaos with the consolidated groups fragmenting into self interest groups who compete and who don't know how to cooperate.
Recently Obama has been successful with his policy of "leading from behind" in Libya, however, it is yet to be seen if the grassroot groups will achieve any of Obama's goals.

Leading from Behind is a dominant foreign strategy of USA Presidents. While it worked in Vietnam, Cambodia, Middle East, Africa. Panama, Afghanistan initially it failed miserably in the long run because of corruption and almost complete movement away from the goals of the original grassroot group and often the group leading from behind. In places like Cuba it failed miserably yet continued, because it satisfied the special interests of the Cuban exiles.

Too Big To Jail

When a well connected industry, such as the banking and finance industry makes such huge political donations that they become impervious to criminal prosecution. They can be so well connected that they in effect pick the prosecutor, and Attorney General, Treasury Secretary that makes the case for saving the very criminals that almost destroyed the Country. In return for their donations and related criminal activities they get bailed out by the government and then take huge bonuses, without an arrest or prosecution. While the common and outraged citizens grass root organizers such as Occupy Wall Street protestors are arrested in mass, and brutalized.

Not to be confused with Not Too Small To Jail, which relates to the petty misinterpretations of the law that are used to harass and to falsely arrest innocent protesters.
How come those on Wall Street that almost destroyed the County on several level of magnitudes larger that Bin Laden, were Too Big To Jail. When those protesting the Wall Street criminal conspiracy were Not Too Small To Jail under false pretenses? Because Justice is Blind, when your gooning for the 1%.

dedemocratize

To destroy democratic norms, and the power of the voters to determine their destiny. This is done by limiting the rights of the public to vote, limiting certain types of people from voting such as minorities, or parts of the US such as Puerto Rico or Washington DC, limiting access to polling, gerrymandering districts, giving certain voters more value than others, removing people from the voter rolls, not registering people who registered, limiting times when people can vote, limiting polling places, greatly expanding the time it takes for people to vote especially on election day, having faulty voting machines, poll taxes, literacy tests, faulty ballots and voting machines, tossing ballots, etc. In some cases like Washington DC and Puerto Rico, they have no representatives in Congress.
In some cases, de-democratization can occur after a free and fair election when the politician does not carry out their oath of office and gives greater weight to certain special interests. In some cases, a politician may have extreme biases and fail to allow a fair competition of ideas during public participation and legislative debate. In some cases, this is because the politician took bribes, was given special favors, made significant campaign contributions, or because of inappropriate political pressure from the party.
In the US, to dedemocratize ore democracy is as old as our constitution. From the start woman, most blacks, and even non-land owners were not allowed to vote . Senators were originally appointed by politicians, and the president has never been chosen directly by the people.

PMC

Professional Managerial Class. Middle-class professionals typically who typically are educated and have business training and qualifications, and some advanced university degrees;

e.g. academics, teachers, social workers, engineers, managers, nurses, and middle-level administrators, The PMC typically have above-average incomes.
The Republicans suck up to the PMC by giving them tax breaks and stripping the industry of fundamental business regulations. which really doesn't benefit the PMC in the lower rung. And the transfer of all the wealth to the rich limits the PMC's opportunity, especially when the middle class and poor no longer have money for discretionary spending on their products.

kayaking

The act of paddling or surfing a kayak. In a kayak you sit flat with the legs straight out, and you typically use a kayak paddle with a blade on each end of the paddle, however a canoe paddle or hand fins or hands can be used. In solo kayaks you sit in the center of the kayak, and in tandem kayaks you sit either close together or more towards the end. There are lots of different types of kayaks to go kayaking in. These include but are not limited to white water play boats, river kayaks, sit on top kayaks, sea kayaks, expedition kayaks, and tandem kayaks.
I think some people prefer kayaking alone to canoeing with another person because they don't have to do all the work, when they are stuck with a jerk who refuses to paddle. In some cases they like the freedom of kayaking alone because it allows them to get very very far away from the person they are paddling with.
