A Major League Soccer club based in the Salt Lake City suburb of Sandy, Utah. Nicknamed "RSL", the club at first got a lot of criticism because they were very bad and had an un-American name. However, it dwindled down after the won the Cup title in 2009 and excelled in the CONCACAF Champions League.

An Major League Soccer club from Seattle that has a incredibly ridiculous amount of fans (for an American soccer club), upwards of 35,000 a match. The original club formed in 1974 and they have been playing in MLS since 2009.

A trophy given to the Major League Soccer club with the best regular season record. Soccer purists consider the Shield winner the true champion of MLS for that season; however, the league likes to the MLS Cup winner is the champion that season.
The incentives for winning the Shield are nearly identical to the MLS Cup. Both teams are rewarded with Group Stage spots in the CONCACAF Champions League the following year.
