Peckerwood derived from the blacks forcing the whites into orally pleasuring them (because they looked like a the woodpecker pecking wood while thrusting another man's "wood" down their throat) in prison during a time period of history when the white population in prison was very few and far between. The term is now IGNORANTLY worn proudly by a large number of white Americans in prison.
