A piece of suburban slang whose originator hopes to have elevated to the status of urban slang.

A: I'm getting a bit sick of the "urban word of the day".
B: Yeah I know, half those words are just wannabe slang.

suburban slang

A word or phrase put forward as an example of urban slang, while in fact having little or no street usage. Otherwise known as wannabe slang or tryhard slang. Note: this term is self-referential.

A: Hey guys, I went shopping on Christmas Adam, and got such a mall hangover, I couldn't even do my replymas cards!
B to C: Man, that loser is a master of suburban slang.

tryhard slang

A particularly painful example of suburban slang.

Bill: I think Ben'd like to scrub the toilet.
Ben: Do I have a choice, or have I just been voluntold?
Bill: Hey will you quit with the tryhard slang? It makes you sound like a loser.
