deathstar

An IBM DeskStar 60 or 75GB hard drive, which had a bug in the firmware which could cause massive, spontaneous data loss. Shocking to people, since IBM is generally known for having reliable, though expensive, hardware.

My deathstar died the other day. It was under warranty, but I lost all my data.

jack shit

Nothing, or something equivalent to nothing. Jack shit has the remarkable property that its absence and presence are identical. Typically used with or without a negative to describe a total lack of knowledge, value, or significance. Its use carries a strong negative connotation which can express frustration, disdain, ignorance, or other negative qualities.

I don't know jack shit about that. / I know jack shit about that.
It's worth jack shit. / It isn't worth jack shit.
I didn't get jack shit. / I got jack shit.

coventry

A walkable neighborhood in Cleveland Heights on Coventry rd, featuring cute independent storefronts, a rich history and culture, and the #7, #9, and #821 RTA buses. A favorite hangout place for teens cutting school, coventry has become more upscale and the higher rents are driving out some of the independent businesses.

hogsmith

A pigsmith, one who forges hogs, usually out of iron. The term hogsmith is usually used to refer to more experienced pigsmiths, although the words can be used interchangeably.

bunts

Bunts road, the famous street in Lakewood, OH. Called a road but really more of a street, fairly urban in character. Turns into West 140th street when you take it south into Cleveland.

Giel is east of Bunts. Hathaway is between Giel and Bunts. The two supermarkets are at Bunts and Detroit.
