A portmanteau of admiration and sympathy. The particular feeling workaholics try to inspire in others for their intense dedication and intense servitude.

Me: Joan spent twenty minutes telling me how hard and how long she works each day at XYZ Imports. Her dedication is admirable, but I feel sorry for her at the same time. It sounds miserable.

You: Ah, you feel admirampathy towards her.

Me: Totally!

republicanning

The act of blocking collective progress in the name of selfish pursuits.

1. Jack: "Obama spent the month of July of 2011 dealing with a congress that shot down every debt increase deal he put together."
Dave: "I know! Congress was republicanning."

2. Jack: "Hey Steve, I'm gonna be a few minutes late picking you up. Some asshole thought he could make the light and is now blocking my lane of traffic.
Jill: "Damnit! While republicaning is illegal, the police do not issue enough citations against it. We need some zero tolerance policy on republicanning."

popademic

Books or articles written by academics on academic topics such as the new nature of cities or the interconnectedness of the world. These works are intended to be popular, frequently are on best seller lists, and are aimed at a specific type of mass audience, usually one that is educated and works in the professional service sector. Usually, this audience has a large enough disposable income to afford popademic works.

Richard Florida's book, "The Rise of the Creative Class" is a popademic book. So is "Freakanomics."
